Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission Chief Tony Ojukwu SAN, congratulates all Muslim Faithfuls as he wishes them a cheerful and memorable Eid El Kabir celebration.

Chief Ojukwu SAN who made this felicitation on the 2022 Eid El Kabir day said “It is a celebration that symbolises sacrifice and the respect for the sanctity of life, which is in line with human rights norms”.

He harped on the need to promote kindness, love, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him), irrespective of tribe, religion, and political differences.

The Chief custodian of human rights in Nigeria lamented that the rising insecurity in the country characterised by kidnapping, banditry, widespread killings, and those championing different ideologies, has resulted in gross violations of human rights on a daily basis.

Ojukwu urged Nigerians to strictly adhere to the tenets of human rights and social justice so that the country would overcome its security challenges.

He urged Muslims to use the golden opportunity of the month of Dhul Hijja and the celebration to pray for peace, blessings, and favours of Allah for the country.
