As Nigeria joins the rest of the global community to commemorate the 2025 World Refugee Day, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Dr. Tony Ojukwu, OFR, SAN, has emphasized the need for urgent attention to the plight of refugees and forcibly displaced persons in Nigeria.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)is deeply disturbed by the recent escalation of violent attacks and killings in Benue and Plateau States. These incidents have resulted in the tragic loss of lives, displacement of innocent people, and wanton destruction of property, leaving many families and communities in trauma and despair.
