Counsel to the Police in the case of alleged Arbitrary arrest, detention and enforced disappearance, DCP James Idachaba has stated before the Independent Investigative Panel on Human Rights Violation by the defunct SARS and other Units of the Nigerian Police force that a complainant before the panel Mrs. John Alozie should go back to the court that passed the Judgment which the police has violated and not to come before the panel.
The Police on Wednesday told the Independent Investigative Panel on human rights violations by the disbanded Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units in Abuja, that the allegations brought before the panel by Mrs. Remigus Clementina, on behalf of her late father, holds no water and therefore urges the panel to dismiss the prayers for payment of compensation.
Mr. Malik Taiwo has stated before the Independent Investigation Panel on Human Rights Violations by the Defunct SARS and other units of the Nigerian police force that a complainant before the panel Mr. Emenike Umezuruike should not be awarded any compensation because he was not detained by the police and his evidence not convincing enough.
Counsel to the police Mr. Fidelis Ogwobe has stated before the Independent Investigative Panel On Human Rights Violations by the defunct SARS and other Units of the Nigerian police force that police officers who abandon their duty posts to go elsewhere are no longer acting as police officers at that time.
